Jessica Soroky continues her series Leadership is a Choice.
It’s 6 am and I sit on a plane watching the beginning of the sun rising over the clouds. The orange and red fills the horizon in the most brilliant fire. It is the physical representation of the fire I feel building in my chest.
No more than seven hours ago I was saying goodbye to the Averys as I took in the power and momentum that had radiated through the previous twelve hours. One day, when The Leadership Gift Program is more widely used than any other leadership material, I will look back on this day and remember the thirteen magnificent minds that came together in Comfort, Texas to contribute to the program we all love.
First let me acknowledge this group of demonstrative, powerful, and responsible leaders. Thank you Christopher, Bella, Cathy, Ashley, Kathie, Joe, Mikko, Mary Lea, Julie, Elaine, Sean, and John for taking the time to not only make this event possible but for staying engaged and passionate for over nine hours of facilitated brainstorming and strategic planning.
Thank you for being you, for opening your hearts and minds, and thank you for your willingness to share and connect with others on this level. Thank you for supporting me in my facilitation and thank you for helping me grow continuously. I sit here, next to Joe, and I fight back tears of pure appreciation. I can’t seem to put into words what yesterday meant to me and the new level of clarity and freedom I found because of it.
I found clarity not only around the program and its path forward, but I found clarity in my purpose. (Yes I know I talk about this a lot, here’s the secret – purpose grows and evolves and when you practice personal responsibility purpose is almost impossible to stop.)
Thank you all for your contribution, practice, and for all of your purposes.
Its now 6:30 a.m. and the oranges and reds have been replaced by sparkling white clouds. Before doing my typical re-read of what I just wrote it hit me that apart from the clarity I found in Comfort, we are so much more than a community, we are a family. A few weeks ago I wrote a love letter to me.
We are a family.
This entire community is a family, no matter what level you are or how much you participate. It is all inclusive. This family doesn’t obligate you to reunions or holidays you don’t want to attend. This family doesn’t evaluate your choices, or the path you are on. This family embraces you exactly as you are. It allows for your growth rate and is always willing to pick you back up or support you before you fall.
We are the responsibility family.
The best part is we are always growing, always adding new members to our family with open arms. Not only are we individually limitless, but our power is exponentially more when we come together.
You may be wondering what we did yesterday that was so powerful. Well, all of the notes and information from yesterday will be shared with the community and feedback is invited. We covered everything from the foundation of the program and higher purposes, to ways to continuously improve every aspect of it, and finished up talking about how we continue to grow our family.

None of this would have been possible if not for two very important, powerful, and free men. I want to acknowledge Bill and Christopher for so many things. First, and most important, thank you for creating and sharing this material with the world. Thank you for allowing all of us to join you on the mission to free more beings. Thank you for your never-ending demonstration of personal responsibility. Thank you both for seeing something in me that I didn’t always see. Thank you for mentoring me, working with me, poking me, and pushing me
Thank you for unleashing me.
To this entire family, let’s keep coloring outside the lines and pushing the boundaries on our pursuit of freedom, power, and choice. Let our demonstration continue to speak volumes and let us continue to be this one of a kind family.
I thank you and love you.
