Crazy Literary Fact: Kurt Vonnegut and the Saab Dealership

Before he was famous, author of Slaughterhouse-Five, Kurt Vonnegut, managed America’s first Saab dealership. In a 2004 essay published in the magazine In These Times, Vonnegut wrote that he was the "owner and manager" of the dealership. It closed shop in less than a year and all anecdotal evidence suggests that Vonnegut was not a very good businessman nor was he particularly interested in cars in any case.
Thankfully, things got better for Vonnegut thereafter, and he went on to become a popular novelist.
