How to Be Away from Your Desk for Extended Periods of Time

The only time it is even somewhat excusable to be away from your desk is if your computer is malfunctioning. But for this, you would actually have to cause a malfunction that would require a tech to come and have a look and possibly catch you at your game.

But what if your computer is simply installing updates? Then no tech needs to come and yet you have a viable excuse for being away from your desk because anyone looking at your computer screen will see that it is in the process of being updated. This is where My Progress Bar comes in handy.

Simply go to this site and enter the relevant information about the computer and OS you are using and how much time you need for the "update" to take. Your browser window (which you should expand to fill your screen) will then resemble an update screen appropriate to your computer and OS. Then go off and do what you need to do.
