He led the design and development of Authorware Professional and was the founder and chairman of Authorware Inc. which merged to form Macromedia. He is the chairman and CEO of Allen Interactions, a company with East Coast, Midwest, and West Coast studios that build universally acclaimed custom e-learning, provide consulting on learning strategies, and train e-learning professionals in collaboration with ASTD. He holds a doctorate in educational psychology from Ohio State University and is an adjunct associate professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School, a popular conference speaker, and prolific writer on e-learning.
